Remarkably large ivory blossoms measure in at 5 to 6 inches across! Growing as a dense, evergreen shrub with an upright, spreading habit and glossy dark-green leaves, this attractive tropical plant reaches a maximum height and width of 3 to 4 feet. Gardenias are ideal for low hedges, screens, borders, containers, or as a stand-alone specimen plant. In cool climates, 'Coconut Magic' should be grown in a container and moved indoors for winter. Heaviest blooming occurs in summer, but Gardenias can bloom throughout the year in warm climates. Encourage continuous blooming by picking off spent flowers just below the leaf node. 'Coconut Magic' is best grown in full sun to part shade in consistently moist, acidic, well-drained soil. |
