A type of English lavender, 'Munstead' has been a mainstay of herb gardens for the past 100 years! Taking on a shrub-like habit, this lavender is very full, rounded and long lasting. 'Munstead' has truly stood the test of time, remaining a garden favorite since its introduction in 1916! Includes three dormant, bareroot plants.

Every bit of this plant is highly aromatic! 'Munstead' is grown and harvested commercially for use in perfumes and aromatherapy items. This evergreen produces masses of lavender-blue flower spikes in late spring to early summer, surrounded by silvery green leaves. Traditionally planted in the garden along borders, consider harvesting the blooms and making potpourri! Lavender is commonly used as an herb in cooking, an accent in bouquets or for use in perfume and aromatherapy. After the heavy flush of summer blooms, you can enjoy exploring a wide variety of creative ways to use this fragrant plant! A fine performer in the U.S. Lavender responds well to environmental conditions around the country. It loves well-drained soil and an open, sunny location. This plant is tolerant of high heat, humidity and drought. Come spring, feel free to trim the plant back to encourage bushier growth, and deadhead after flowering to encourage continuous blooming.
