The Sarracenia 'Bug Bat' is a relatively easy carnivorous plant to grow. It requires consistent moisture, acidic soil, and plenty of sunlight. This plant makes a striking addition to a bog garden, a pond, or even as a focal point in a container. For optimal health and flowering, the Sarracenia 'Bug Bat' needs a winter dormancy period. During this time, keep the plant cool—ideally between 35 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, or below 40 degrees for 6 to 8 weeks to encourage flowering. It is crucial to keep the plant moist but not overly wet during its dormancy. As a carnivorous plant, the Sarracenia 'Bug Bat' traps and digests insects for nutrients. It is important not to force-feed the plant. If you are growing it indoors and it lacks access to insects, you can offer it mealworms or crickets from a pet store. Includes one actively growing plant in a 2.5" grow pot.
